ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Wednesday he wants to transform Pakistan into an Asian hub of industrialization through heavy investment.
He was speaking to a Bahraini business delegation, led by the founder/chairman of a private company Royale Nova Sheikh Khalid Mohammad Salman Al Khalifa.
Investment Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Commerce Minister Syed Naveed Qamar, Housing and Public Works Minister Abdul Wasay, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi and others relevant senior officials attended the meeting.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister ordered the authorities concerned to provide all possible facilities to investors in Bahrain as a matter of priority using all available resources.
The Board of Investment (BoI) authorities briefed the delegation on the huge investment opportunities in Pakistan in different sectors such as health, tourism, hotel and hospitality, housing, agriculture, food , information and technology.
The delegation was informed that Pakistan was an ideal country for investment due to its strategic location, young population, skilled workforce, immense natural resources and conducive business environment.
The delegation reiterated that it was taking advantage of the huge investment opportunities existing in Pakistan and hinted that it would start investing in the hotel, hospitality and housing sectors in the next six months.
