Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann have both apologized for their actions after a social media video leaked that showed the couple appearing to mock Asian staff.
The video, which was recorded by Dembele, circulated online over the weekend and shows the two players laughing at a group of technicians working to fix something in a hotel room.

The images have been criticized on social media and France’s teammates both released statements on Monday to apologize for their behavior.
“Hello everyone, in recent days a private video from 2019 has been circulating on social media,” Dembele said wrote on Instagram. “It all happened in Japan. It could have happened anywhere on the planet and I would have used the same expression.
“So I was not targeting any community. I just happened to use this type of expression with my friends regardless of their origins.
“This video has since been made public. So I appreciate that it may have hurt those in the footage. For this reason, I want to offer my sincere apologies.”
Later, his Barcelona teammate Griezmann replied to the video on Twitter and writes: “I have always been completely against all forms of discrimination.
“In recent days, some people have wanted to portray me as someone that I am not. I strongly refute the charges against me and I am sorry if I have offended any of my Japanese friends.”
Barça, the Spanish Federation or the French Football Federation have not confirmed any potential sanctions for the players.
Both played for France at Euro 2020 but Dembele’s tournament was cut short due to injury, while Griezmann played as Didier Deschamps’ side were eliminated on penalties by Switzerland in the round of 16.
