New Ordinary and Special Needs Facilities at Rosses Community School

Major development work will see a new special education facility and a new mainstream facility at Rosses Community School.

Donegal County Council has granted conditional planning permission for the work at Dungloe School.

Demolition works have been approved for the existing school building.

The development, in Chapel Road, Dungloe, will see the construction of a single storey extension to the front of the school for a special education facility.

A two-storey extension to the west side of the school will see additional ordinary accommodation at the school.

The vehicle exit from Link Road to Chapel Road will be relocated.

Additional parking, bus stop, landscaping and other associated site works have been approved by the local authority.

The application was made on behalf of the Rosses Community School Management Board.

Planning permission is subject to 13 conditions set by Donegal County Council, which are primarily aimed at preventing flooding and in the interests of orderly development.

Some parking spaces must be equipped with cables to allow the future supply of electric motor vehicle charging.

All road and junction improvements, including the installation of crosswalks, sidewalks and curbs, must be completed prior to the first use of the extension.
