Meets Turkish Deputy Minister of Health
Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid met Turkish Deputy Health Minister Prof Tolga Toloni at a local hotel on Wednesday.
Provincial Minister of Department of Primary and Secondary Health Care, Dr. Akhtar Malik, also accompanied Dr. Yasmin Rashid. Turkish Director General of Health Services Dr. Salami Kulci and Turkish Consul General Emir Ozbey were also present.
Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid discussed issues of common concern with Turkish Deputy Health Minister Prof. Tolga Toloni. The Turkish Deputy Health Minister appreciated the health projects launched by the Punjab Health Department.
Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that the private healthcare business community in Pakistan, especially Punjab, should take full advantage of the Pak-Turkey Healthcare Business forum and exhibition.
She said 23 major public hospitals and 11 mother and child hospitals are being built in Punjab.
Provincial Minister of Department of Primary and Secondary Health Care Dr. Akhtar Malik said basic steps are being taken to provide better health facilities to the people of Punjab.
Turkish Deputy Health Minister Prof. Tolga Tuloni has paid tribute to Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid for providing free treatment facilities to the people of Punjab through the Sehat Sahulat card.
Meanwhile, Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid chaired a meeting at the Department of Specialized Health Care and Medical Education here on Wednesday.
Punjab Health Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch, CEO Punjab Health Initiative Management Company Dr Ali Razzaq and Dr Noor, Adnan Jameel, Abdul Monim, Dr Yasmin Ehsan, Rehan and Children Hospital Lahore, Chaghtai Lab, Fatemeed Foundation Lahore, Kulsoom Society of Hematology Sialkot, Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College Sialkot, Sundas Foundation and representatives from other charities and government hospitals participated via video link.
Provincial Minister of Health Dr. Yasmin Rashid reviewed treatment facilities for children with thalassemia through Sehat Sahulat card.
Dr Ali Razzak, CEO of the Punjab Health Initiative Management Company, and Dr Noor of the State Life Insurance Company gave a briefing to the Provincial Minister of Health, Dr Yasmin Rashid.
The minister said, “We are providing free treatment and transfusion facilities of sealing agent to all children suffering from thalassemia major in Punjab through the Sehat Sahulat card. We have today called on all stakeholders to provide more facilities for Thalassemia Major children through the Sehat Sahulat card,” she added.
Dr Yasmin Rashid said the State Life Insurance Company has been commissioned to provide training to staff at some public and private hospitals to facilitate the treatment of adult children with thalassemia.
