Metaxa Hospitality Group welcomes hotel staff back for the 2022 tourist season

the Metaxa Hotel Group recently held its “Staff welcome” event for 2022, an annual event held just before the start of the summer tourist season.

The “Staff Welcome” event aims to warmly welcome the group’s employees to its hotels on the Greek islands of Santorini and Crete.

Held online this year under the title “Ethos – Passion – Reason” – the three concepts that form the group’s philosophy – some 800 Group employees from Crete and Santorini took part.

CEO of Metaxa Hotel Group Andreas Metaxas welcomed the staff of the group and said he was optimistic that this year would be a good tourist season, despite the difficulties.

Referring to the Group’s philosophy and vision, Metaxas said: “Our people are our strength and our family. All together we share a daily smile, devotion and love, creating a special and genuine hospitality that we passionately offer to our guests,” he said.

During the event, the group honored executives promoted or awarded as “employees of the year” in 2022, as well as group employees who are retiring.

Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports Lefteris Avgenakis, Deputy Minister of Tourism Sofia Zacharaki and group executives also took part in the “Staff Welcome” event.

“In Greece, hospitality has a face, a character and a long tradition… All thanks to its people who strive every day to offer quality experiences and genuine pleasure to visitors. Always with meraki* and creativity,” Zacharaki said.

Based on the Greek island of Crete, the Metaxa Hospitality group operates three high-end resorts: the Creta Maris Resort (681 rooms) and the TUI Magic Life (TML) Candia Maris in Crete; and the Santo Maris Oia Luxury Suites & Spa (57 rooms) on Santorini.

* Meraki is a Greek word used to describe the feeling of doing something with passion – from the heart.
