Bombay: A 27-year-old man landed in trouble after inquiring about escort services online. The unknown caller allegedly assaulted him and threatened to upload a photo of his wife to an adult website, even after he recently extorted 1,000 rupees from her in Mumbai.

The case came to light after the man filed an FIR at Juhu Police Station on April 9. The Indian Express reported.

According to the complaint filed at the police station, the man was staying at a luxury hotel in Juhu and was looking for nearby spas on the Internet when he came across a website with the link that mentioned “Searching Escorts”.

As soon as the man clicked on the link, a person who showed up working for escort services called him on his cell phone and sent him photos of women along with their rates, the man said. complainant in his FIR.

Later that evening, the Complainant received another call on his cell phone from an unknown number who allegedly sent him a picture with his wife. The Complainant’s photo with his wife was actually his WhatsApp (DP) display photo.

According to a report by The Indian Express, the unknown caller threatened to upload his wife’s transformed photo to adult websites. The caller also warned that it would release the complainant’s mobile number along with the altered photo, the FIR added.

Following this, the man would have started to receive several abusive calls and texts on his mobile number. The caller also asked the man for money.

Left with no other alternative, the plaintiff eventually sent Rs 1,000 to the unknown caller through the online mode. But when the threatening calls continued, he asked Juhu police for help.

Based on the complaint, the Juhu police started an investigation into the incident.
