HOTELIERS on Playa de Palma must receive specialized police training to deal with unruly tourists as the island seeks to clamp down on bad behavior.

Under a new plan, tourists arriving in Palma will also be required to sign a code of conduct before checking in.

Hotel owners say they need to hire security guards as the aggressiveness of tourists increases.

“We have similar occupancy levels as in 2019, but like every year we have the same problem and the local authorities are not doing anything to solve this problem. That is why we have decided to launch our security plan” , Palma de Mallorca hoteliers said in a statement.
