Hotel staff charged with assault and robbery in Coimbatore

According to Race Course Police, the case was registered against Vishnu Bharathi from Perumanallur in Tiruppur who works as a hotel accountant in Race Course.

Police have registered a complaint against hotel staff at Race Course here in relation to a fight they had between a group of men on the night of September 10. A video of the fight that took place outside the hotel had gone viral on social media.

According to Race Course Police, the case was registered against Vishnu Bharathi (24) from Perumanallur in Tiruppur, who works as a hotel accountant in Race Course, and some other men who work as bouncers in the hotel, based on a complaint by Mr Johnson (50) of Saravanampatty.

The complainant told the police that he had gone to the hotel on September 10 to make a reservation for his son David’s birthday. The petitioner claimed that he paid ₹2,500 and demanded to see the place. He alleged that the defendant did not authorize him and abused him by using foul language in addition to assaulting him and David. He alleged that the defendant also stole his son’s diamond ring.

Earlier, racetrack police filed a case against Johnson, David, Lakshmanan and Jerish accused of assaulting hotel staff.
