A drunk man who lay down outside a hotel in protest because staff wouldn’t let him into his room has been moved by police – because he was in the wrong hotel.

Police responded to reports of an inebriated man lying in protest on the pavement outside the Premier Inn in Bournemouth in the early hours of Sunday morning.

In protest at the denial of what he thought was his room, the man decided to lie down on the pavement outside the hotel – until he was arrested by Dorset Police.

They then helped him to his hotel – nearby.

Police tweeted: “Officers encountered an intoxicated male attempting to enter a hotel where he did not have a reservation.

“He lay down on the ground in protest. The officers took him back to the hotel he has a reservation for across the road.”
