Columbia hotel rooms are in short supply this weekend, due to Mizzou’s football game against No. 1 Georgia, the defending national champions.

The Bulldogs travel as well as any football team in the country, and Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau spokeswoman Megan McConachie predicts that several thousand Bulldog fans will be in Columbia for the game starting today ( Wednesday). She tells 939 Eagle that Columbia is “extremely short of hotel rooms for this weekend.” She says that while there are still a few rooms available on Friday night, Saturday is almost full.

The influx of Georgia fans traveling to Colombia will also impact restaurants and shops in the Columbia area as these fans will eat and shop as well.

Some Bulldog fans will stay in hotels in Jefferson City. Many hotels in Jefferson City are already full for Saturday, due to the return of Lincoln and Georgia fans as well.

Saturday night’s game starts at 6:30 p.m. You can listen to the game on Central Bank Tiger Radio Network Zimmer affiliates KCMQ (FM 96.7) and KTGR (FM 100.5). It will also be televised on the SEC Network.
